DTS started accepting orders within the Barnsley area through its recently-redeveloped website in the first quarter of 2009, becoming the first such company in South Yorkshire to do so. Since that point, the company has been impressed by customers’ response to the convenience of the new system and sought to make further improvements to it. The company chose PayPal as its partner in this venture due to the latter’s popularity with online shoppers and its reputation for ease and security.
“We are constantly striving to increase sales and firmly believe that the easier we can make the ordering process for customers, the more they will use us instead of our competitors. Over the next six months, we aim to put plans into place that will make the system even more convenient, rolling it out to cover a wider geographic area, offering a wider range of products and services” explained DTS Environmental’s Commercial Manager, Robert Skelton.
At present, the online ordering service is aimed mainly at domestic customers that make one-off orders within the Barnsley area. In the near future, however, DTS plans to offer a similar service to commercial customers, enabling them to, for example, quickly request container exchanges, view their order history and download relevant documents on demand.
